Prevent a stroke

Things you can't change:

Family history – you are more at risk if someone in your family has had a stroke. • Age – arteries harden and become furred up with age, which means older people are more likely to have a stroke. • Gender (sex) – in people under the age of 75, men have more strokes than women. • Ethnic background – if you are of South Asian or African-Caribbean origin, you are more at risk

But there are things you can change
