25 Habits

Below is a list of 25 habits that are key in helping you build a more successful life.  These habits range in different areas of life; it is important to address various areas instead of focusing solely in one area and neglecting others.

1. Take responsibility for everything that happens in your life.

Responsibility allows you to take control of the results in your life.  when you are in control, you are not constrained or limited by external factors.  Do not blame outside forces or things that may have happened in the past—accept all that has happened and learn how to utilize it moving forward.  Doing so will limit your thinking and ability to move forward.

2. Focus on gratitude.

It’s difficult to be angry, frustrated, jealous, or upset when you are focused on the positive things that you already have.  It’s often the most important things that are already in our lives that get overlooked such as our family, our friends, our health, and even our homes.  There are always people who are less fortunate and have to live in worst circumstances.

3. Find the good in all situations.

Not every situation we will encounter will be positive but learning to find something good or valuable from it will shift your perspective and benefit you.  Only focus on the negative if you can learn from it somehow to help yourself or help others.

4. Be solution focused, not just problem focused.

If you only focus on problems, you will surely find them. Problems are everywhere—focusing on solutions will force you to think of ways to resolve the problem and take action in solving them, not just talking about them.

Complaining breeds negativity and does not serve anyone. Sure, sometimes we need to vent and let things out but the habit of complaining just for the sake of it is useless.
