Does it really matter to us that which job title we hold, how many zeroes we have in our pay-check or from where we come from.
I am not sure whether I’m capable enough to answer this but according to me, the true meaning of life can be summed up in one word - SERVICE.
This might have come as a surprise to you as you would be expecting some really cliched or poetic words but it all came down to such a general and not-so-important word i.e. SERVICE.
Ever from your childhood, you must have felt your little dreams manifested; yet you know there is a tiny corner of your heart which feels empty. Your soul still not satisfied, you are hungry for something else.
We have been taught this from ages that we are here on Earth for a reason. A reason that has to be discovered by us in this life and something meaningful needs to be deduced and executed. As a child I remember myself praying to God and asking, “Please make use of me, use my life to make a difference, to help others.”
I felt like Santiago, the little shepherd boy in Paulo Coehlo’s The Alchemist who was searching for treasure in the Egyptian Pyramids that would bring him happiness.
I believe we all have a power, a sort of talent which comes all naturally to ourselves. But life isn’t just about discovering that gift and keeping it to yourself.
As I’ve experienced, the true joy comes from giving it away. Service is the meaning of life and what will ultimately bring you joy.
